The University for All Program (UPT) is an initiative of the Government of the State of Bahia since 2003. It is coordinated by the Department of Education and executed in partnership with State Universities – University of the State of Bahia (UNEB), State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS), State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB), State University of Santa Cruz (UESC) – and the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB).
Elevated to the status of a program by State Decree No. 20.004/2020 (DOE 22/09/2020), the University for All Program is aimed at strengthening access to Higher Education, specifically targeting students who have completed or graduated from high school in the state public education system. It can also be seen as a way to promote equity and retention in university education, as it also benefits undergraduate and postgraduate students from partner universities when selected to work as monitors.
To become a student participant in the UPT, interested individuals must meet certain prerequisites: be a graduate of state or municipal high schools in the State of Bahia; or be enrolled in the 3rd year of state or municipal regular high schools or their corresponding modalities; or be enrolled in the 4th year of state or municipal integrated Professional Education with High School or their corresponding modalities.
